Self esteem

Self-esteem is a view of one's worth. A person with high self-esteem, are generaly more happy with thier life than a person with low self-esteem. A self-esteem can be reised by:
1. reconize that you can control your self-image.
2. learn more about you self.
3. don't let other set your goals.
4. reconize and eliminate unrealistic goals.
5. Drop Negitive self talk.
6. Emphasize you strengths.
7. approach others with a positive outlook.

Family (ec)

Your family has an effect on you eihter good or bad. Say you have a problem, you can go to your family they will help you and make you feel better. In other instaneses your family is the problem, where do you turn? Eihter way your family has an inpact.

A family has a posative impact on you. For an example say you have a issue, and you take it to your mother or father. They will give you a reasonable way to deal with the issue. Eventually, that will be the way you deal with all issues. A family will teach you good ethics and politeness.

On the other hand a family may also have a negitive impact. Say a family member of yours smokes, drinks, or uses drugs. Enough exposure to that kind of thing will stick and you will end up doing those things. Or maybe you have been abused by a family member and the rest of the family wont believe you and you are forced to repress those feelings. Those are just some things that can have a negitive effect.

So if you think a family don't impact you life think twice.

Ch.1&2 Quiz Reflection

The class got together and did a 50 quistion quiz on chapters 1 and 2. I personally think it should've been a take home assignment. I feel that the questions I did not answer are not going to stick as wall as the ones I did. Though It don't matter I have a bad enough memory as it is.
I got to study these chapers so I cant blog any longer.

SQ4R

SQ4R means 'Survey Qustion Read wRight Resite Review.' I useful for gaining and retaining information. Say you have a chapter to read and you have little time to read it. Wait I take that back when I do it useally takes longer, but the information sticks longer than when you just read the chapter. Anyway here is hoe it works.

1) Scan thru the chapter.
2) Get a piece of paper and right down all the things that you have questions on, or you think will be on the test.
3) Read the section that you questioned.
4) Answer them on the piece of paper.
5) Recite the answer.
6) Review / Quiz yourself.

That is how SQ4R works. Happy Studying. :-)

Stress

Stress is an every day thing. There are multiple stressors minor and major. Minor stressors are little things. Every day driving could be concidered a stressor. An example is like if someone cuts you off. A major stress is usually something huge like a death or divorce.

When an event happens, you asses the situation. This is called an appraisal. A primeary appraisal is an initial evaluation of weather an event is (1)irrelivant to you, (2) relivant but not threatning, (3)stressfull. When in the event of a stressful situation, a person is more likely to make a secondary appraisal. A secondary Appraisal is an evaluation of you coping resourses and dealing with the stress.

Stress can also lie within the envirement. This is called an ambient stress, which consists of chronic enviormntal conditions that place adaptive demands.
